#20 Hannah Haller - Why I've Chosen NOT To Freeze My Eggs
In this episode we speak with guest Hannah Haller, renowned yoga teacher, health coach, world traveller exploring an off-grid life in her home in Maui, Hawaii. We connect over the fertility pressure women can perceive in their late 30's and early 40's.
Hannah shares her extraordinary lifestyle, living on a 40 acre farm in a yurt in Hawaii and her days of travelling and the happy struggles before the internet and mobile phones.
But Hannah is much more than the yogi with 500K followers on instagram. Her story is touched by adversity, life's battles with loss, heartbreak and grief. She shares openly and honestly, where she is at in her healing journey and how the loss and grief has changes her perspective on attachment.
Experiencing a miscarriage in her mid 30's, Hannah has taken much comfort in her practice of yoga and exploring her dharma of nurture in other places outside of being a biological mother.
Whilst Hannah is open to becoming a mother, her path does not include egg freezing. She has witnessed a friend undergo a $25000 treatment with years of IVF treatment and no success and would not want this to be her experience.[Disclaimer: this price is stated without any research from our end. Please do your own research to better understand costing, should you be looking into egg freezing]
Considering the conditioning we all underly of creating a "perfect" family in our 20's or 30's - Hannah is not interested in making a pressured decision from this space and has come to a place of peace, where the core ideology is to make whole-hearted decisions instead.
Hannah emphasises the need for community help in motherhood and the network required to raising children, regardless of how independent of a woman one is.
